Event Booking Terms & Policies
Booking & Payment Terms
Inquiries: Inquiries are not confirmed reservations. Dates are held only after a 35% non-refundable deposit is received.
Pricing: Set pricing is final. No negotiations accepted.
Deposit: 35% non-refundable deposit, signed agreement, and valid photo ID required to reserve any space.
Final Payment: Full payment due at least 5 days prior to the event date. Event will not be hosted and will be canceled if the final payment is not received before the event starts.
Quote Validity: All quotes valid for 3 weeks from date issued due to ingredient and market pricing fluctuations.
Guest Count & Minimums
Updated Guest List: Updated guest list, including the updated guest number, must be reported minimum seven days prior to the event.
Head Count Changes: Up to 5% variation accepted only if notified in writing 1 day before event, with payment for any increase.
Additions: Host must inform management of additional guests at least 7 days prior. Last-minute changes cannot be accommodated.

Payment for venue minimum is required even if fewer guests attend. Banquet Hall bookings below 100 adults will still be charged the 100-person rate.
Children & Food Policies
Children's Pricing:
- Under 4 years: Free of charge
- Ages 5–15 years: Charged at 65% of adult per-person rate
Parent/Guardian Request: Please advise children not to waste food, damage property, or run in the venue.
Food Testing: No sampling or food testing is permitted prior to the event.
Leftovers: No takeout boxes provided after the event, as we prepare extra food for presentation on behalf of the host.
Event Service Policies
Waitstaff: We do not provide table service for individual guest tables. All events are buffet style.
Bartender Service: Provided only if alcohol is included in your package. Minimum 40 alcohol servings required to qualify for a bartender.
Alcohol Policy:
- All alcohol served per Michigan state guidelines. Valid ID required.
- Alcohol for guests 21+ only.
- Hosts are responsible for ensuring guests do not leave premises with alcohol.
- If host provides alcohol, guests may not exit with beverages.
Staff Courtesy: All service staff must be treated with respect at all times.
Substance & Conduct Policy
Prohibited Substances & Activities: Drugs, vaping, gambling, prostitution, and other intoxicating substances or illegal activities are strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, including the parking lot.
Conduct: No harassment, verbal or physical. No abusive language, gestures, or behavior toward guests, staff, or other patrons will be tolerated.
Alcohol Consumption: No games, contests, or activities promoting competition of alcohol or intoxicating substance consumption are permitted on the premises, including the parking lot.
Host Responsibility: Hosts must ensure all guests understand and comply with this policy. Violation may result in immediate termination of the event without refund.
Management Rights: Management reserves the right to remove any disruptive guest from the premises without refund.
Decoration Policy
Decorations must be removed by guests without causing damage to restaurant property. Additional charges apply for any damages.
If guests request Basil staff to remove decorations, a fee of $750–$2,500 will be applied.
Guests must not insert nails, screws, or stick any materials onto walls or furniture.
Stickers may only be placed on provided backdrop arches.
Guests are welcome to bring tabletop decorations or floor items that do not damage property.
Food Ingredients & Special Dietary Requests
Allergens: All food items may contain milk, milk by-products (butter, cream, ghee, etc.), nuts, sesame seeds, garlic, onion, herbs, and spice blends.
Host Responsibility: It is the host's responsibility at time of reservation to inform Basil Indian Bistro in writing of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.
Changes: Last-minute changes or additional requests will not be accommodated. Changes to recipes may incur additional charges depending on ingredient substitutions.
Jain Food:
- Can be prepared upon request, with additional charges for custom ingredient handling.
- Minimum 15 guests required for Jain requests. Requests for fewer than 15 guests cannot be accommodated under this menu.
- We do not offer a completely Jain menu at standard pricing.
- Additional $5–$25 per person may apply based on ingredient requirements.
Cancellation & Force Majeure
In the event of a natural disaster or situation beyond human control — including but not limited to earthquakes, pandemics, floods, droughts, power outages, riots, terrorist activities, political or communal unrest, strikes, shortages of supplies, or manpower issues — Basil Indian Bistro reserves the right to cancel the event.
The host will be notified as soon as possible, and any deposit will be refunded by company check within 10 business days.
Outside Food & Beverages
No outside food, alcohol, or non-alcoholic beverages permitted on premises.
